Softball Recap: Warrenton's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Warrenton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They beat the Valley Catholic Valiants by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 9-7. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Lucy Smith, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Natalie Davis, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Warrenton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Warrenton pushed their record up to 6-9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Valley Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Warrenton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Valiants: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
