Softball Recap: Stockton Comes Up Short

Stockton had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 15-7 to make it four. They fell just short of the Strafford Indians by a score of 9-8. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 11-10.

Gracie Abercrombie was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 4-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Raelyn Henderson, who went 2-for-5 with five stolen bases and two runs.

As for Strafford, their record now sits at 12-17. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 19, 2024.

On Strafford's side, Dalyce Scrivener was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Scrivener has posted over her last ten matches.

Coming up, Stockton will face off against Lamar at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Strafford, they will take on El Dorado Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
