Weatherly suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Weatherly vs. Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes

Weatherly's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 69-53 fall against Schuylkill Haven. Weatherly has not had much luck with Schuylkill Haven recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Weatherly's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Niko Saldukas, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Corbin Wagner, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Even though they lost, Weatherly were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. This was only their ninth loss (out of 11 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Weatherly bumped their record down to 2-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Schuylkill Haven, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.

Weatherly will head out on the road to challenge Williams Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Williams Valley is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Schuylkill Haven, they will be playing at home against Mahanoy Area at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mahanoy Area has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
