Menlo School has gone 5-0 against Carlmont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Menlo School Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Carlmont Scots at 2:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.

Menlo School is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Saturday. They breezed by Tennyson at home to the tune of 49-0. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Lancers are ranked 658th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Menlo School can attribute much of their success to Jack Freehill, who threw for 97 yards and three touchdowns, and Chuck Wynn, who rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.

Menlo School's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Keli'I Chavinson and Jamie Forese. Chavinson's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making two total tackles (1.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Carlmont at home against Castro Valley on Friday as the squad secured a 61-34 win.

Carlmont got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniel Mattioli out in front who rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Mattioli got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible68 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Booth, who rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
