Baseball Game Preview: West Scranton Invaders vs. Old Forge Blue Devils

The West Scranton Invaders will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Old Forge Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Old Forge took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on West Scranton, who comes in off a win.

West Scranton was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over Pottsville.

Mason Lesh was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Old Forge came up short against Pittston on Thursday, falling 11-3. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost six in a row.

Old Forge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angelo DiMauro, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another was Frank Pero, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

West Scranton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Old Forge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

West Scranton was able to grind out a solid victory over Old Forge in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 4-0. Does West Scranton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Old Forge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
