Volleyball Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Grant Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While Monroe was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Grant's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-19.

Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Grant, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Monroe and Grant will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Vikings see the court they'll take on North Hollywood at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st. As for Grant, their break will end when they face Poly at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st.
