Basketball Game Preview: New Trier Trevians vs. Glenbrook South Titans

The New Trier Trevians will venture away from home to square off against the Glenbrook South Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. New Trier is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

New Trier is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Evanston on Tuesday. The matchup between New Trier and Evanston didn't end well, with New Trier falling 54-35. While losing is never fun, the Trevians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Wildkits are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glenbrook South). They blew past Von Steuben, posting a 78-50 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Titans have posted since December 14, 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Glenbrook South and bumps their season record up to 16-12. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. As for New Trier, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-10.

New Trier beat Glenbrook South 58-46 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Trier since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
