Softball Recap: Rosamond's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against San Luis Obispo, Rosamond was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the East Bakersfield Blades. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Roadrunners considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Lily Reeder was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Priscilla Ponce was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

Rosamond was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

The win snapped Rosamond's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record. As for East Bakersfield, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Rosamond will be taking part in a tournament against Ridgeview at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Rosamond's pitchers better be ready for this one: Ridgeview has averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for East Bakersfield, they will take on San Luis Obispo in a tournament on Saturday. San Luis Obispo's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so East Bakersfield's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
