Basketball Recap: Westfield Prep Takes a Loss

Westfield Prep was the 72-51 winner over Butler when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors took a 48-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lynx on Saturday. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Butler's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kerminicia Wellington, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. Kennedy Benson was another key player, putting up 15 points along with five boards and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Westfield Prep and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Butler, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6.

Westfield Prep has already played their next matchup (against Chandler Park Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Butler, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-13 win against Kennedy on the 7th.
