Basketball Recap: Nelson County Takes a Loss

Nelson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 34th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 32-18 bruising from the William Campbell Generals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Generals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-5 back in December of 2024.

William Campbell can attribute much of their success to Arnesia Dews, who almost dropped a triple-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Dews a new career-high in steals.

Nelson County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for William Campbell, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Nelson County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-16 loss against Appomattox County on the 4th. As for William Campbell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-19 victory against Randolph-Henry on the 3rd.
