Soccer Game Preview: Columbia River vs. Washougal

Columbia River is a perfect 10-0 against Washougal since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rapids will challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Columbia River will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

If Columbia River beats Washougal with three goals on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Rapids walked away with a 3-1 win over R.A. Long on Tuesday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Columbia River's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while R.A. Long are ranked 83rd).

Meanwhile, Washougal narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Woodland 2-1.

Columbia River pushed their record up to 14-1-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 40 goals over those seven games. As for Washougal, their record is now 4-8-1.

Columbia River took their win against Washougal in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rapids since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
