Baseball Recap: McGregor Bulldogs vs. Lampasas Badgers
McGregor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lampasas Badgers.
Shaun Coleman put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Coleman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Austin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Grayson Estepp also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
McGregor's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Lampasas, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5-2 record this season.
As of now, neither McGregor nor Lampasas have any future games scheduled.
