Baseball Game Preview: Russia Raiders vs. Minster Wildcats

Russia is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Minster is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Raiders will host the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Russia 3.3, Minster 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Monday, Russia made easy work of Graham Local and carried off an 8-2 victory. Considering the Raiders have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Minster walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Locomotives a 3-0 shutout on Friday.

Minster has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Russia, their victory bumped their record up to 21-10.

Russia came up short against Minster in their previous matchup back in April, falling 6-3. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
