Basketball Game Preview: Grant Lancers vs. Taft Toreadors

The Grant Lancers are taking a road trip to square off against the Taft Toreadors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Taft took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Grant, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Grant was able to grind out a solid victory over Castaic, taking the game 41-34.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grant to victory, but perhaps none more so than Estefani Ventura, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Ventura a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Karapetyan, who posted 12 points and six boards.

Grant was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Castaic only posted seven.

Meanwhile, Taft was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 40-39 to North Hollywood. The Toreadors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win got Grant back to even at 1-1. As for Taft, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Grant came up short against Taft in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 30-26. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
