Softball Game Preview: Schoharie Storm vs. Northville Falcons

The Schoharie Storm will challenge the Northville Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Schoharie is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since April 27, 2024 on Friday. They lost 10-4 to Galway. The Storm have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Schoharie saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayla Hayes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that Hayes has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Northville's offense. They came up short against Mayfield on Thursday, falling 14-0. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly 14 runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Northville and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Schoharie, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything went Schoharie's way against Northville in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, as Schoharie made off with a 19-7 victory. Do the Storm have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
