Green River had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.1 points) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Saturday. They blew past the Caprock Academy Eagles 59-36. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Rolando Anguiano, who posted 19 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. Another player making a difference was Jason Hernandez, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Green River was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caprock Academy only racked up nine assists.

Caprock Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zach Jordan, who scored eight points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Holt, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.

Green River's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points over those games. As for Caprock Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Green River and Caprock Academy are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Green River will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bryce Valley at 8:30 p.m. on February 26th. Bryce Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season. As for Caprock Academy, they will challenge Hayden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
