Soccer Recap: Washington Union Comes Up Short

If Washington Union was riding high fresh off their 5-1 takedown of Exeter last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Washington Union Panthers fell just short of the Selma Bears by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 back in January.

Alexis Lopez wasn't going to let Selma walk away unscathed as he scored both of Washington Union's goals, bringing his season total up to 23 goals.

Washington Union's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9-4. As for Selma, they now have a winning record of 9-8-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Washington Union take on the Kerman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Selma has already played their next match (against Reedley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
