The Lincoln-Way West Warriors will square off against the Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln-Way West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Lincoln-Way West beat Bradley-Bourbonnais 6-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

The team relied heavily on Conor Essenburg, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last ten games. Quentin Lange was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Riverside-Brookfield came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 4-1.

Riverside-Brookfield's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln-Way West, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.

Lincoln-Way West came out on top in a nail-biter against Riverside-Brookfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
