Basketball Preview: Bennett Clippers vs. Decatur Seahawks
Bennett and the Seahawks are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Bennett Clippers will head out on the road to square off against the Decatur Seahawks at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Bennett sitting on seven straight wins and the Seahawks on five.
Even though Snow Hill scored an imposing 64 points on Tuesday, Bennett still came out on top. Bennett took their match against the Eagles 73-64.
Meanwhile, even though Cape Henlopen scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, Decatur still came out on top. Decatur walked away with a 65-56 victory over the Vikings.
Brycen Coleman was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Davin Chandler, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Bennett's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.5 points per game. As for Decatur, their win bumped their record up to 15-1.
Bennett came up short against the Seahawks in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 65-55. Can Bennett avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
