Basketball Recap: Samuell Comes Up Short

Samuell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 66-47 bruising from the Seagoville Dragons. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Leading Seagoville to victory were Travion Hall and Mason Maxfield. Hall went 8 for 15 on his way to 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Maxfield went 8 of 11 en route to 18 points. The contest was Hall's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Jaden Hall was another key player, putting up no points and seven boards.

Samuell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-24. As for Seagoville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-11.

Samuell will challenge North Mesquite at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Mesquite is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season. Seagoville has already played their next matchup (against Poteet), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
