Volleyball Game Preview: Lake Wales Highlanders vs. Winter Haven Blue Devils + How To Watch

Lake Wales is 0-10 against Winter Haven since September of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Highlanders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

Winter Haven will be up against a hot Lake Wales team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Highlanders' way against Sebring on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Lake Wales never let Sebring on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-19.

Lake Wales found their leader in freshman Bryelle Turnbow, who had 13 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Caydee Baker, who had 19 assists and eight digs.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Winter Haven, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past McKeel Academy 3-0 on Wednesday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

One reason for the win was Winter Haven's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-17, 25-14.

Lake Wales now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Winter Haven, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.
