Basketball Game Preview: Dutchtown Bulldogs vs. Morrow Mustangs

The Dutchtown Bulldogs will square off against the Morrow Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Tuesday, everything went Dutchtown's way against McIntosh as Dutchtown made off with a 64-42 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Chiefs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Dutchtown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Laylah Simpson led the charge by going 6-for-10 en route to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Simpson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Li'Ara Stephenson, who posted 16 points along with five boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Morrow blew past Northgate, posting a 65-25 victory. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Vikings are ranked 296th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Morrow has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Dutchtown, their win bumped their record up to 15-11.

Dutchtown came up short against Morrow in their previous meeting back in January, falling 55-42. Can Dutchtown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
