Basketball Game Preview: Halstead Dragons vs. Smoky Valley Vikings

Halstead hasn't had much luck against Smoky Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Halstead Dragons will be home for the holidays to greet the Smoky Valley Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Halstead knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Smoky Valley likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Halstead came up short against Hillsboro and fell 77-66.

Meanwhile, Smoky Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Hesston an easy 56-35 victory.

Halstead's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Smoky Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Halstead beat Smoky Valley 56-49 when the teams last played back in February. Does Halstead have another victory up their sleeve, or will Smoky Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
