Basketball Recap: North Davidson Black Knights vs. Ledford Panthers

North Davidson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Ledford Panthers 64-36. The Black Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Ledford found their leader in sophomore Izzy Smith, who went 10 of 14 en route to 23 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. With that strong performance, Smith is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Carmen Hughes was another key player, putting up five points and eight steals.

North Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Ledford, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.

North Davidson will be playing at home against Montgomery Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ledford, they will head out on the road to take on Central Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Davidson is on a five-game streak of home wins, Ledford a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
