Basketball Game Preview: Axtell Eagles vs. Frankfort Wildcats

Axtell is 0-10 against Frankfort since January of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Axtell Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Frankfort Wildcats. Frankfort took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Axtell, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Axtell was able to grind out a solid win over Blue Valley, taking the game 43-30. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Frankfort was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They came up short against Valley Heights, falling 54-29. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Mustangs are ranked 49th).

Frankfort's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Axtell, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Axtell suffered a grim 54-29 defeat to Frankfort in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Axtell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
