Basketball Recap: Riverside Academy Comes Up Short

Riverside Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 64-12 defeat at the hands of the Springfield Bulldogs. The Rebels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-6.

Springfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nickaiya Martin, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine steals. What's more, Martin also racked up five assists, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Cameron Culbertson was another key player, going 7 of 15 en route to 15 points.

Riverside Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Springfield, they pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Riverside Academy has already played their next match (against St. Martin's Episcopal), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Springfield has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against South Terrebonne.
