Softball Recap: Portage Takes Down Reedsburg in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Portage rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Reedsburg Beavers. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Beavers on their field since April 27, 2023.

Ally Saloun spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits.

On the hitting side, Portage saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eliana Considine, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The win (which was Portage's third in a row) raised their record to 20-7. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Reedsburg, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-12.

As of now, neither Portage nor the Beavers have any future games scheduled.
