Basketball Game Preview: Palmetto Mustangs vs. St. Joseph's Catholic Knights

Palmetto is 0-3 against St. Joseph's Catholic since November of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Palmetto Mustangs will square off against the St. Joseph's Catholic Knights at 7:30 p.m.

Palmetto is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Powdersville and fell 83-55. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Patriots are ranked 46th).

Meanwhile, St. Joseph's Catholic entered their tilt with Southside Christian on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 52-45 win over the Sabres.

St. Joseph's Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Palmetto, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Palmetto came up short against St. Joseph's Catholic in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 51-46. Can Palmetto avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
