Baseball Recap: Montbello Comes Up Short

After flying high against Manual last Thursday, Montbello came back down to earth. The Warriors came up short against the Silver Creek Raptors on Tuesday, falling 8-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 15-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Montbello got a good showing from Ivan Gonzalez, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Gonzalez has allowed since back in April of 2025.

Montbello has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Silver Creek, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Montbello will look to defend their home field on Friday against Vista PEAK Prep at 4:15 p.m. As for Silver Creek, they will take on Pueblo East in a tournament on Friday.
