Volleyball Recap: Herrin Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Herrin lost against Marion back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Herrin started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-20, 25-20.

Evaley Collier paced Herrin's offense, picking up ten kills. Collier were helped by Harley Summers and Emery Skaggs, who contributed 16 assists each. Finally, Collier was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Jacie Havens was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 13 digs and two assists. Those 13 digs gave her a new career-high.

Herrin's loss dropped their record down to 10-24. As for Marion, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 15-16 record.

Herrin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Murphysboro on the 28th. As for Marion, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Waterloo on the 28th.
