Basketball Recap: Stoughton Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Stoughton won the last time they faced Reedsburg and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Stoughton Vikings enjoyed a cozy 71-54 win over the Reedsburg Beavers. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Beavers are ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stoughton now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Reedsburg, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-10.

Stoughton will host Portage at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Stoughton is facing Portage at the right time seeing as Portage is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Reedsburg, they will venture away from home to challenge Edgewood at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Edgewood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Reedsburg likes a good challenge.
