League recap: Madison scores huge upset over Sand Creek

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Sand Creek, who took down 383rd ranked Sand Creek, 7-3.

Britton-Macon/Deerfield moved up to 209 from 257 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Tri-County. The Patriots were able to make the jump by beating Summerfield 48-20.

Nate Hoffman and Leighton Merritt gave Britton-Macon/Deerfield a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Hoffman threw for 30 yards and one touchdown, while Merritt ran for 329 yards. Teammate Brandt Swindeman added to the ground attack by rushing for 131 yards.

Colin Poore was the best wideout in the league this week as Clinton bested Morenci. Poore tallied three receptions for 32 yards. Cullen Zimmerman helped Clinton's passing attack out by catching three balls for 23 yards.

The Redskins' TJ Baker and Zimmerman have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Baker has thrown for 865 yards this season, while Zimmerman, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 15 catches for 236 yards. DJ Lutz's team's Merritt leads the league in rushing yards with 1069.

A big matchup in Tri-County this week will be when the Bulldogs take on Clinton. As it stands, Summerfield is in third, while Scott Mcnitt's team is in first.

The Redskins extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Bulldogs, 42-12. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
