Basketball Game Preview: Sterling Tigers vs. Platte Valley Broncos

The Sterling Tigers will head out to take on the Platte Valley Broncos at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sterling is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Sterling and Valley, and Sterling kept the tradition alive. Sterling managed a 47-43 victory over Valley on Tuesday.

Among those leading the charge was Tatym Dempcy, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 18 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Tonche, who posted eight points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Platte Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 48-32 win over the Eagles.

Sterling's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-10. As for Platte Valley, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.

Sterling came up short against Platte Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 50-44. Can Sterling avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
