Baseball Game Preview: Braham Bombers vs. Rush City Tigers

Braham and Rush City are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Bombers are taking a road trip to challenge the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Braham and Hinckley-Finlayson, and Braham kept the tradition alive. The Bombers won by a run and slipped past the Jaguars 3-2. That's two games straight that the Bombers have won by just one run.

Meanwhile, Rush City hadn't done well against Pine City recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Dragons. The Tigers not only won last Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 14, 2024 (when they won 14-0).

The victory was the third in a row for Rush City, bringing their record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Braham, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Braham came out on top in a nail-biter against Rush City when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bombers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
