Softball Recap: Eastern Wayne Takes a Loss

Eastern Wayne's last matchup with North Johnston could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Monday. The Warriors lost 10-3 to the Panthers. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this contest were averaging 3.92 runs allowed.

Eastern Wayne saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Reed, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Eastern Wayne has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for North Johnston, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-8.

Eastern Wayne didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 victory against Douglas Byrd on the 22nd. As for North Johnston, they have also already played their next contest, an 18-9 win against West Craven on the 21st.
