Basketball Recap: Eastside Early College Panthers vs. Crockett Cougars
Eastside Early College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 60-9 loss at the hands of the Crockett Cougars. The Panthers lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 47-41 score last time.
Crockett's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Smith, who had 14 points in addition to eight steals and five rebounds. Smith has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 19 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lola Osaigbovo, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Eastside Early College's record now sits at 0-6. As for Crockett, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Eastside Early College will take on Marble Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crockett, they will square off against Travis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crockett is facing Travis at the right time seeing as Travis is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
