Basketball Recap: West Florida Takes a Loss

West Florida was the 68-61 winner over Tate when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The West Florida Jaguars fell 60-48 to the Tate Aggies on Tuesday. While the Jaguars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Aggies 10-6 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why West Florida lost, don't look at Brayden Justice. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points along with five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Frank Likely, who put up six points and eight rebounds.

Marcus Cooper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tate, putting up 14 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Keontrez Montgomery, who had 12 points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for West Florida and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Tate, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

West Florida didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-45 victory against Pace on the 5th. As for Tate, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-62 loss against Booker T. Washington on the 5th.
