Foundation Academy took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand The First Academy Royals a 4-0 shutout. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 6-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The result came thanks to Reagan Schirmer's shutout, as she gave up just five hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Kena Terry was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Winters, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Foundation Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The First Academy only posted a batting average of .160.

The First Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Foundation Academy is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will challenge Horizon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for The First Academy, they will challenge Bishop Moore at 6:00 p.m. on February 28th.
