Baseball Game Preview: Sylacauga Aggies vs. Shelby County Wildcats

For the second straight game, Sylacauga will face off against Shelby County. The Aggies are taking a road trip to face off against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sylacauga is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Things were looking good for Sylacauga after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 9-4 to Shelby County.

Connor Phillips was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. He has become a key player for Sylacauga: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 9-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamaury Thomas, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Shelby County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-12. As for Sylacauga, their loss dropped their record down to 13-16.
