Basketball Recap: South Brunswick Takes a Loss

South Brunswick lost against North Brunswick back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars lost 81-57 to the Scorpions. The Cougars were down 67-43 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why South Brunswick lost, don't look at Jayden Daniels. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 25 points and 14 boards. Daniels is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Edward Young was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

North Brunswick's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Baker, who shot 75% from the field on his way to 23 points. Another player making a difference was Kane Jenrette, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 16 points and seven boards.

South Brunswick's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

South Brunswick has already played their next matchup (against East Columbus), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for North Brunswick, they have also already played their next contest, a 59-16 victory against East Bladen on the 20th.
