Volleyball Recap: Lake Highlands Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Lake Highlands faced off against Plano East on Saturday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Elle Holley paced Lake Highlands' offense, picking up 13 kills. Holley were helped by Hailey Jacobus and Carrigan Anderly, who contributed 19 assists each. Finally, Parker Horton kept Lake Highlands' defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Dakota Huynh, who had 13 digs and four assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Addison Tucker also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Lake Highlands' loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Plano East, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Lake Highlands didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against McKinney North on the 26th. As for Plano East, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Keller on the 23rd.
