Basketball Recap: Aubrey Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Princeton over Beddingfield

Princeton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They fell 61-50 to the Beddingfield Bruins. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, with their most recent defeat being a 62-45 loss last Thursday.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrey Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Johnson a new career-high in shooting accuracy (63%). Paisley Beddingfield was another key player, putting up 16 points and three steals.

Leading Beddingfield to victory were Natasha Marshall and Sa'Naiya Coppedge. Marshall dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten assists, while Coppedge dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Marshall has scored at least a third of Beddingfield's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zakiyah Dixon, who posted seven points and four steals.

Princeton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-20. As for Beddingfield, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-14.

As of now, neither Princeton nor Beddingfield have any future games scheduled.
