Volleyball Game Preview: Weed Cougars vs. Etna Lions + How To Watch

Weed hasn't had much luck against Etna recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cougars will host the Lions at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Weed needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight matches and they got it from Judith Atondo. The Cougars put the hurt on Fall River with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday for which the team can thank Atondo, who had seven digs and four aces. Those aces were her first of the season.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Weed was: they took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-15, 25-9.

Meanwhile, Etna posted their closest win since September 11th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mt. Shasta, sneaking past 3-2.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Etna got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 19-25, 25-19, 17-25, 15-12.

Etna's victory bumped their record up to 18-10-2. As for Weed, their win bumped their record up to 17-10.
