Baseball Game Preview: Frazier Commodores vs. California Trojans

Frazier is 1-9 against California since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Commodores will take on the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Frazier is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Frazier's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Monessen 13-0. The Commodores haven't had any issues with the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Frazier got a massive performance out of Noah Bachinski, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The Commodores are undefeated when Bachinski posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Brant Alekson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Frazier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .548. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, California didn't have quite enough to beat Burgettstown on Saturday and fell 3-2. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caden Monticelli spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, California saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Lowden, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Lowden's first of the season.

California now has a losing record of 4-5-2. As for Frazier, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
