I Northern - Sierra recap October 8, 2013

Galena took down Douglas 27-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Brock Raggio threw for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns during the win.

Carson and Damonte Ranch played the closest game in I Northern - Sierra this week, with Carson eventually emerging with a 38-35 victory. Joey Thurman threw for 44 yards and ran for 147 yards in the win.

The Mustangs' dynamic duo of Kyle Daugherty and Jared Blake proved to be unstoppable against the Senators, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Daugherty threw for 330 yards and 3 touchdowns and Blake had 237 yards receiving. Travis Priestly helped Damonte Ranch's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 20 yards.

Blake had an awesome week catching the football as Damonte Ranch lost to Carson. He caught 11 passes for 237 yards.

Cody Agrella made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Grizzlies bested the Tigers. The 6-foot-1 defensive lineman grabbed 1 sacks.

He was 20-37 with 1 interception.

Galena's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Grizzlies feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Raggio has thrown for 1,221 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Chaz Clark has 32 catches for 599 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Bishop Manogue takes on Galena. As it stands, the Miners are in fourth, while Steve Struzyk's team is in first.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Bishop Manogue takes on the Grizzlies. Paul Mills' team has allowed 129 points this season, while Galena has given up 105.

Blair Roman's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,631 from 5,467. The advance stemmed from a 38-35 victory over Shawn Dupris' team last week.
