Recap: Maury Commodores vs. Churchland Truckers

The Maury Commodores can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 65-15 win over Churchland. That 65-15 margin sets a new team best for Maury this season.

Maury got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Myla Parker out in front who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyla Brown, who scored 14 points.

Maury's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3. As for Churchland, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maury won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Western Branch at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th. Western Branch presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Maury in Virginia (Western Branch is ranked 68th, while Maury is ranked 343rd). Churchland will be home for the holidays to greet Norcom at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Norcom is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
