On Friday, Tupelo faced Clinton in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Tupelo Golden Wave were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to the Clinton Arrows. The Golden Wave's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Tupelo's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Clinton, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tupelo will head out to square off against Murrah at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clinton, they will venture away from home to face off against Starkville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Starkville will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Clinton surely won't give up without a fight.
