Softball Recap: Katella's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Katella entered their tilt with Calvary Chapel on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 10-7 win over the Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Dani Neville spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned runs on 12 hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nataly Rodarte, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackie Morelos, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Katella always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory got Katella back to even at 9-9. As for Calvary Chapel, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Looking ahead, Katella will take on Buena Park at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Coyotes will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Calvary Chapel, they will face off against Laguna Hills at 3:30 p.m. on the 23rd. The Eagles are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
