Soccer Game Preview: Lee County vs. Cairo

The Lee County Trojans will head out to take on the Cairo Syrupmakers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Friday, Lee County didn't have quite enough to beat Veterans and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Lee County in their meetings with Veterans: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Cairo fell victim to Peach County and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. That's two games in a row now that Cairo have lost by exactly two goals.

Lee County's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Cairo, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Lee County got the 'W' when the teams last played back in February of 2019 against Cairo by a conclusive 4-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
