Softball Recap: Bishop Moore Comes Up Short

If Bishop Moore was riding high fresh off their 19-2 takedown of Celebration last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bishop Moore Hornets came up short against the Trinity Catholic Celtics on Friday, falling 8-2. The Hornets were not able to make up for their loss to the Celtics from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Bishop Moore saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits Johnson has posted since back in April of 2024.

Bishop Moore's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Trinity Catholic, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Moore will take on Melbourne Central Catholic in a tournament on Saturday. Bishop Moore is facing Melbourne Central Catholic at the right time seeing as Melbourne Central Catholic is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Trinity Catholic, they will square off against Baker County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
